Since it was never beaten on for police use it is a fantastic running car I am the second owner I recently installed the following: 4 new severe duty shocks to replace its originals I installed a 95 caprice factory cassette radio so my iPod and or phone can be used through a cassette adapter I installed a 95 caprice sport package leather steering wheel to replace the 9c1 foam wheel that was dry discolored and brittle It has quiet factory dual exhaust It has 4 good firestone tires It runs fantastic and can go anywhere and do anything,and needs nothing right now I drove these 9C1s when they were brand new and I remember most of our lighter weight unmarked 9C1s were just a bit quicker than our automatic mustangs side by side.
It has the rare power drivers seat,and rare factory door panel ashtrays on both front doors. Has the working spotlight, ticket light,and dual inside trunk lid lights.

Everything works on this car. There are no service or check lights on. The fire departments easy pass tag blue is still in the window forgotten I guess and there are FD mats in the trunk as seen in the photos. The fire chiefs business cards come with it too. The headliner has some water stains on its edges stemming from the roof holes where the light bar was,not being plugged when it came out of service. They are now plugged and water tight. Headliner is fine but id shampoo its edges. Car had 2 roof holes and one trunk hole.
The hood and tops of fenders were repainted poorly in its life,and is chipping away,the hood was replaced most likely as it has no access for the caprice hood ornament.
Many like these cars without the hood ornament ,I happen to like it with one,but its not there. Easy remedy should you choose to install one. I see no sign of prior damage or rust repair,and from the doors back is original paint. Drivers lower quarter very bottom outer has some rust A yard near me has plenty of perfect rust free lower sections for 40 bucks.
If I keep the car thats just what ill do next. Zero rust on pass quarter. Common bottom of driver B pillar has the quarter size rust starting Even the common spot on the drivers wheel well where the hood cable attaches is rust free. The trunk and rear wheel wells are rust free. The underside is in great shape,with no floorpan rot.

The engine starts on the first turn and runs amazing! The motor has been broke in now around miles on it, oil and filter has been done twice in the almost miles sence rebuild. Almost everything has been replaced with new as well as the vacume system for the headlights.
Two tone silver top with black sides red pin stripe looks good at a distance ameture paint job The interior is custom and was done by Sue off of the show Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas. This was about 3 blocks away from her shop at the mans house i purchased it from. It is done in black and gray total custom job with the "68" impression on both doors the stitching and work is amazing that she put into this even the dash has even been redone in the black and gray as well as the center console Sue done an amazing job.

Deep burgundy color is officially known as "purple pearl" finish. Has had regular maintenance throughout ownership. Garaged for the past 10 years and used only occasionally. Driver's side mirror has a cracked housing. All four floor mats are included, but not shown. Both the driver and passenger seats are power seats including forward, back, and tilt. The radio has 4 small station setting buttons. The paint is in overall excellent condition. There is one short, not deep scratch on the front left fender.
There are a couple areas of small paint loss on the edge of the driver's side door. There is a flea bite dime size or smaller out of the top part of the bumper which I think it plastic. The paint is otherwise not chipped or cracked and retains its sheen.
There is a small amount of rust for the age of the car and the fact that it was driven in Wisconsin for 18 winters. The spring and catch for the hood have rust, the underside of the hood does not. The wheel wells have some rust and there is some rust on the undercarriage and engine frame. When is the last time you have seen one of these? The leather on the steering wheel is loose and only one horn button works. We just took this car on a 2, mile trip and it ran great and used NO oil. The transmission shifts as it should. This is a rust free, dry climate Colorado car with an excellent under body.
